9 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari Tour

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Tansfer to Samburu National Reserve

Your adventure in Northern Kenya begins in Nairobi or Nanyuki. You will cross the Equator and travel through some breathtaking scenery during the route. Our first destination is the Samburu National Reserve, where we will spend the night in the opulent Elephant Bedroom Tented Camp. Samburu is renowned for its vast array of wildlife, which includes not just big cats but also the Northern Five mammal and bird species that are exclusive to this ecosystem. These include the Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Grevy Zebra, and Reticulated Giraffe.

Day 2: Full Day in Samburu – Visit to Reteti Elephant Sanctuary

After an early bush breakfast, we will visit the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary. This sanctuary was established in collaboration with the locals in an effort to better and safeguard animals, particularly the elephants from poaching. You will have the opportunity to feed and interact with the many baby elephants who call this place home. After returning to the camp for lunch, spend some time relaxing before going on a two-hour evening wildlife drive.

Overnight at Elephant Bedroom Camp

Day 3 & 4: Transfer to Lake Turkana Loiyangalani Region

After an early breakfast, leave Elephant Bedroom Camp and go to Lake Turkana, sometimes referred to as the Jade Sea. On your way to the lake, you’ll see some breathtaking mountain ranges and stop for a packed lunch. As you approach the lake, you will pass Africa’s largest windfarm and catch a glimpse of several Turkana, Samburu, and Rendille communities in the distance, along with Mt. Kulal, a biosphere reserve. The largest desert and alkaline lake in the world, Lake Turkana is home to the largest number of Nile crocodiles worldwide. The settlement of Loiyangalani, which is at the lake’s edge, will provide lodging for the night. For the next two days, Malabo Resort will be your residence.

You will spend two nights in Loiyangalani and get to see Kenya’s smallest tribe, the El Molo. You will have a singular chance to view their community and peculiar fishing vessels. A boat ride on the lake, a trip to the desert museum, and a look at some prehistoric rock art are some of the day’s other activities. You’ll get some free time to unwind and enjoy swimming in the Jade Sea after this. Lastly, you will visit some students and provide them some much-needed school supplies if the schools are open.

Day 5 & 6: Oldonyo Mara Ranges – Mount Nyiru

You will now travel to the breathtaking Desert Rose Lodge atop Mount Nyiru on Day 5. Out of all the lodges in Kenya, Desert Lodge features some of the most distinctive architecture. While travelling, you will get the opportunity to stroll on some sand dunes and take in breathtaking views of Mt. Nyiru and the Ol Donyo Mara mountain ranges, two of Northern Kenya’s mountain ranges. You will have some downtime and participate in a Samburu cultural visit after you arrive at the lodge.

Day 7 & 8: Sera Conservancy

You will go through the Ndoto Mountain ranges and on to Sera Conservancy. The luxurious tented camp Saruni Rhino Lodge will serve as the venue for the night’s lodging. Tracking rhinos on foot will be one of the main activities while visiting Saruni Rhino, a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Day 9: Return to Nairobi – Departure

On the ninth day, you will go at your leisure and return to Nairobi/Nanyuki to wrap off your tour after breakfast. After eating an early lunch in Nanyuki, you will arrive in Nairobi early in the evening.
