Day 7: Game Drive in Serengeti National Park.

Enjoy unparalleled game watching in what is possibly the world’s most well-known wildlife reserve today. Over three million large mammals live inside the limits of the Serengeti, which the Maasai refer to as “endless plains.” This area is home to about 35 different species of plains animals, including the “big five,” among which there are up to 1,500 lions. Another famous feature of the Serengeti is its yearly migration. Up to a million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra, and 300,000 Thompson’s gazelles assemble to begin their arduous journey to new grazing grounds, prompted by the periodic rains. The journey commences with the wildebeest rutting season, a wild three-week period of mating and territory conquest. Who survives this enormous migration, where crocodile-infested rivers must be crossed and where ravenous predators who view this long column of herbivores as a moving feast, must be avoided, is genuinely a matter of survival.

Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Accommodation: Serengeti Serena Lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

Travel through time to a distant era of human history as you stop at the Olduvai Gorge on your way to the Ngorongoro Crater today. Dr. Louis Leakey discovered signs of prehistoric humans at this archaeological site, which is sometimes referred to as the “cradle of mankind,” 3.5 million years ago. Proceed and make your two-night check-in at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. All of the Lodge’s circular suites, which are perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, provide breathtaking views that you can enjoy even while taking a relaxing bath thanks to floor to ceiling windows. The remainder of the day is free to take in the many things the Lodge has to offer as well as the surroundings.

Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

This massive crater, which was formed three million years ago by the once-active volcano Ngorongoro, is now home to a wide variety of African species. The crater is surrounded by high walls that house a sizable soda lake, meadows, woodlands, and freshwater springs. Come daylight, make your way down to the crater floor, where you can interact with some of the 20,000 species who call it home. See the Black Rhino emerge from the forests in its last remaining sanctuary in Tanzania, an ancient creature creating a bizarre effect in the mists of early dawn. See enormous flocks of flamingos and other aquatic birds at Makat Soda Lake. The images of the hunt where the predators lurk in the marsh, waiting to ambush animals that are coming to drink where the river empties into the lake will then excite you. Search the marshy sections of the crater for elephants and hippos seeking refuge from the African sun. Additionally, the herds of gazelles, wildebeest, and zebra extend as far as the eye can see on the expansive grasslands. In time for lunch, head back to the resort. The afternoon and evening are free to enjoy this lovely ambiance.

Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
